Briton held for sex assault on three blind kids

Indian police Monday arrested a 54-year-old British man after three young boys at a hostel for blind children in Delhi filed allegations of sexual assault against him.

ANI tweeted that the victims were students at the National Association for the Blind in Delhi's RK Puram.

Police have seized his laptop computer and found some "objectionable videos", local media reports say.

"The arrested British national Murray Ward has been in India since last October", Ishwar Singh, deputy commissioner of Delhi police, told AFP news agency.

"We received a complaint from the NAB management on Sunday regarding sexual harassment of minor children on the NAB premises in Sector 5 of R.K. Puram".

" The accused as per preliminary investigation, is found to be a paedophile".

The man, who was working with a private firm in Delhi's suburbs of Gurgaon until recently, was associated with the NAB for the past nine years as a donor. He is accused of sodomising three students at the school, Times Now said.

"His mobile phone is being examined and his Macbook contains a couple of objectionable video clips but we are yet to ascertain if those videos are of the children from the school". It is being probed whether the British national was part of any group involved in sharing material pertaining to paedophilia, said another officer.

The accused has been arrested and is being produced before the Court for obtaining his police custody remand.

Police said Ward had employed a male nurse as he had a paralytic attack in February this year.

The police have also registered a case under POCSO Act against accused Murray Ward, a resident of Gloucestershire in the UK.
