Niall is now on his own solo tour and he deliberately picked smaller venues to give his shows a more intimate feel.

"I'd obviously written a lot of stuff when I was teenager and 19 or whatever", Niall says.

'It's a very special song to me and I hope you like it, ' he said.

The release comes nearly one year on from when the One Direction singer first gave fans a chance to sample his solo efforts. "Flicker" is expected to feature Niall's previous releases, including "This Town", "Slow Hands", "On the Loose" and "Seeing Blind" featuring Maren Morris.

Along with the release, Niall also revealed that his debut solo record "Flicker" would be released globally on October 20.
