Another Pixel 2 XL problem, this one with touch panel edge response

Washington D.C [US] Nov 11: The recent bug in Google's latest offerings, Pixel 2 and 2 XL prevents Google Assistant from working on Bluetooth headphones.

A Pixel User Community thread was started about a week ago.

In addition to the smaller Pixel 2, the giant Pixel 2 XL also appears to have the same issue.

It's not been the best of launches for Google and the Pixel 2 XL, with widespread reports of screen burn-in issues on new devices and users complaining about muted colors, both problems that Google is investigating. One owner who goes by the name "Deathsoldier11 " on the community even went ahead and conducted a test and found out that while the edged on his phone's display recognized swipes, they were not responsive to taps.

Instant Analysis: Bucs hang on for a crucial win vs. Jets
The Jets would tie the game before halftime, marching down the field 51 yards for a 47-yard field goal by Chandler Catanzaro. Overall, the Jets defense didn't get off the field quick enough; they gave up two scoring drives lasting 7:56 and 7:25.

His post first clarifies that his Pixel 2 XL's panel works when sliding his fingers along the curved edges, but doesn't repeat this behavior when just tapping along the sides.

For what it's worth, I've never noticed any responsiveness issues on the edges of my Pixel 2 XL screen in my day-to-day use. The fix is expected to roll out through an over-the-air (OTA) software update, although the release date of the fix is yet not specified.

The Pixel 2 XL is definitely not having a good time on the market, as many issues related to the device's hardware have popped up since its general availability last month.
