Fire Breaks Out in Annapurna Studio in Hyderabad, no Casualty

Fire breakdown was happened at Nagarjuna's Annapurna Studios. A major fire broke out at Annapurna Studio at Banjara Hills on Monday evening and gutted the hit Telugu film "Manam" set, which featured three generations of the Akkineni family.

Reportedly, the accident occured at around 6.30 pm in the evening. "Though the flames were very high, the blaze was completely extinguished within two hours", as per reports on NDTV. The sets were said to be empty when the incident took place, the Times of India reported. The attractive house set that was erected for Manam movie has been used for various other movies. Due to the heavy traffic, the fire tenders arrived late and the staff members had to barricade the studio to prevent people from entering. No casualties have been reported.

Though it was suspected that a short circuit might have caused the fire, Telangana state disaster response and fire service department personnel said that they are yet to ascertain the reason. There was only physical damage to the sets.

It mainly produces and distributes Telugu films and also provides various production facilities, including sound stages for set construction, outdoor sets, editing, dubbing and digital intermediate suites.
