Byron Maxwell signing with Seattle Seahawks, per reports

Former South Carolina standout Mike Davis has promoted from practice squad to the 53-man roster for the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced Tuesday.

The Seattle Seahawks placed Prosise on the injured reserve list after he injured his left ankle Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Seattle Seahawks are signing the free-agent cornerback to a one-year deal, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Maxwell's signing will again give Seattle five cornerbacks, joining Jeremy Lane, Shaquill Griffin, Justin Coleman and Neiko Thorpe, with Sherman out of the rest of the year.

Moon says he remained neither optimistic nor pessimistic, noting the North has often made such decisions at the last minute. The Chinese prime minister said the countries' relations will continue to improve, though it may take time.

Carroll also told the radio station that Sherman is scheduled to have surgery on his ruptured Achilles this week.

Almost a full calendar year later, Maxwell was shipped to the Miami Dolphins. Seattle's signing of Maxwell does not impact Miami's salary cap situation. Maxwell played down the stretch for Miami last season, helping the team into the playoffs, but was cut after starting only two games, replaced by rookie Cordrea Tankersley.

Davis is former fourth-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers out of SC.

He has rushed for only 23 yards and added 87 in the passing game this season. He has 108 yards and one touchdown on the ground to coincide with his 10 career catches for 63 yards.
