Rajput Groups Protest In Bengaluru, Demand a Ban

Earlier in the day, Karni Sena members vandalised Aakash Mall in Rajasthan's Kota in protest against showing the trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's controversy film "Padmavati". "There's a lot of hard work goes when you make a film, the director has the right to present his perception and creativity, there should be freedom of speech and creativity", he said.

In January, Karni Sena protested, manhandled and misbehaved with the crew of "Padmavati" claiming that Bhansali was distorting historical facts in the film.

"So, I feel it is unfair that you comment on a film without watching it".

Padmavati is based on the legend of Rani Padmini, a Hindu Rajput queen, mentioned in Padmavat - an Avadhi language epic poem written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540.

Deepika says that the makers of the movie are only answerable to the Central Board Of The Film Certification (CBFC) and she strongly says that nothing can stop the release of the movie. The demand for the formation of a panel to preview the movie before release is also gaining momentum, with threats range from bandhs to protests.

While controversies and debates have refused to die down over the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming magnum opus "Padmavati", actor Sidharth Malhotra has come forward to support the film. What have we gotten ourselves into? The movie featuring actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor has been in limelight ever since its first poster was out. And where have we reached as a nation?

"It has been an incredible journey and we are literally counting the days".

This is the third time when the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actress Deepika Padukone are collaborating together. Deepika said that the movie will release as per schedule, on December 1.

Even as the release date for the film comes closer, the state government has no plan of action to contain the tension.
