Tennessee State Player Expelled After Punching Strength Coach on Sideline

Greenstone, who played at Vanderbilt, serves as the "get back" guy and was trying to keep Tennessee State players away from the sideline.

A football player at Tennessee State University was kicked off the team and expelled from school after he attacked a coach during a game on Saturday night.

Video from the game shows Lee punch strength and conditioning coach T.J. Greenstone multiple times until Greenstone fell to the ground. Lee is seen in videos hitting Greenstone twice on the side of his head.

Monday, the 22-year-old was expelled from the university. "We are committed to supporting the coach who was personally affected and our concern now is with him".

Vikings leap back into top-10 of USA TODAY power rankings
The Vikings' gumption might be their greatest constant, in a season with more unrest than their record would suggest. "This time around we just want to show that we're a different team", said Diggs, who had four catches for 78 yards.

Lee was majoring in criminal justice and was named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. It is still unclear what sparked Lee's rage, but head coach Rod Reed immediately dismissed him from the sidelines and then kicked him off the team after the game.

It happened during Saturday's game against Southeast Missouri State at Hale Stadium.

Lee, who is 6-foot-2, 240 pounds, started two games for the Tigers this season and registered 18 tackles, including three and a half tackles for loss.
