Jamie Carragher slams Dele Alli's North London derby performance

Gary Neville has admitted that Mesut Ozil was by far the best player on the pitch for Arsenal in the 2-0 win over Tottenham in Saturday's north London derby clash.

The 23-year-old, who can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder, started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.

"I've said it for the last two seasons, I think Arsenal and Tottenham are very, very close at the moment and I put Liverpool there with them as well".

Many Arsenal fans have even conceded defeat in their hopes of Ozil and Sanchez staying in North London, suggesting that Arsenal should get some fee by selling them early during the upcoming January transfer window.

On Monday Night Football, Jamie Carragher didn't hold back with his assessment of their performance, particularly that of Dele Alli.

"We still think of Spurs as a young team, there is no bigger fan of Spurs than me, love the way they play, the manager, the players, but we still don't treat them the way we do the other big players".

Neville told Sky Sports: "It was an outstanding team performance for Arsenal but he [Ozil] has been the best player on the pitch".

"You look at the Spurs players and think, come on, you have got to step up, now is the time".

Arsenal sit in sixth but are now just four points away from Manchester United in second place, and Parlour believes the derby win can be the catalyst for a strong campaign for the Gunners.

'It has to be five or six seasons where you finish above your rival.

"I think Alexis Sanchez is the LeBron James of the Premier League", Monreal said.
