Who Is Warren Moon? Hall Of Fame Quarterback Accused Of Sexual Assault

NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon is being sued for sexual harassment, The Seattle Times and Washington Post report.

Moon is accused of grabbing the crotch of his executive assistant, requiring her to wear "skimpy thong lingerie bottoms" and sleep in the same bed as him on business trips, according to the Washington Post.

The lawsuit against the 61-year-old Moon was filed Monday in Orange County (Calif.) Superior Court. He retired in 2000 at age 44 and was inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006. It also includes that Moon allegedly pulled off Haskell's bathing suit and slipped a drug in her drink during a trip to Mexico in October.

The lawsuit says that, on October 6, Haskell told Moon that "while she loved working at S1M, she was very uncomfortable with the travel sleeping arrangements and shower protocol". The suit also claims that she was demoted when she complained to the company Sports 1 Marketing, owned by Moon, about his sexual advances.

Haskell has asked for a jury trial against Moon, who now works for the Seahawks' official radio network.

As an Eskimo, Moon won two Grey Cup MVP awards and became the first professional football player to pass for 5,000 yards in 1982.

She said the organization past year helped approximately 3,000 children across the county, with each child receiving four gifts. For years, Toys For Toys has been a big part of Kindness Day at News Channel 8, helping to collect new, unwrapped toys.

Mr. Moon's 23-year pro-football career included six seasons in the Canadian Football League and 17 in the NFL, the majority with the Houston Oilers. Moon played for the Oilers from 1984 to 1993, setting numerous records along the way.

In a statement late Wednesday, the Seahawks said Moon had requested a leave of absence from his role as the club's radio analyst.

She says in the lawsuit that "Moon had a dark and twisted side that commanded far more than just executive assistant services from his newly hired employee".

Whitlock's piece also notes that Moon has been in trouble with the law before, including a sexual harassment lawsuit from a Vikings' cheerleader alleging he offered to pay her for sex in 1995 (settled out of court), a later 1995 arrest and assault charges after his then-wife said he slapped and choked her (he was acquitted after she testified she provoked the fight; they later divorced in 2001), and a 2007 drunk driving charge (reduced to negligent driving, led to community service).

Moon has been accused of sexual harassment and domestic violence in the past.
