Andy Murray continues comeback, defeated in Abu Dhabi exhibition

Despite facing Roger Federer in a charity exhibition match in Glasgow on November 7, he has not played a competitive match since he was defeated by Sam Querrey in the Wimbledon quarterfinals in July.

Uncertainty over Novak Djokovic's participation in Australian Open, the first Grand Slam event of 2018, after the Serb announced his withdrawal from upcoming Qatar Open (starting January 1) on Saturday, December 30.

And so Djokovic, who withdrew from the exhibition in Abu Dhabi this weekend after he experienced more pain in his troublesome elbow, has pulled the plug.

Britain's Andy Murray was yesterday set to replace the six-time Australian Open champion and play a one-set exhibition match against Bautista Agut.

Novak said he will make a comeback on the court when he will feel himself fully fit.

He said in a statement on his personal website: "Unfortunately, the situation with the elbow has not changed for the better since yesterday".

Warriors' Stephen Curry likely to be on minutes restriction when he returns
Kemba Walker added 16 points, five rebounds and five assists while Nicolas Batum had 15 points, six assists and four boards. After an 11-game absence, Stephen Curry is set to return to the Warriors lineup late Saturday afternoon.

Murray did not speak to the media, but told the court-side commentator: "Obviously I made a slow start and Roberto is one of the best players in the world".

"It was nice to be able to play".

"I am very sad because I was eager to return to playing official matches". He says "only when I'm 100% ready to play, I will be able to come back".

Having seen some warm-up footage posted earlier by Reem Abulleil from Sport360.com Murray had been practising and was called in at the last moment to stand in for Novak Djokovic, whose elbow was still not good enough for him to play. I hope it will be soon.

Murray now plans to travel to Brisbane for his opening ATP Tour event of the season before attempting to challenge at the Australian Open.

The 12-time Grand Slam victor was scheduled to kick-start his new season against Roberto Bautista Agut at the Mubadala Championship but was advised by his medical team to skip the tournament just hours before.
