Government to resume processing DACA renewals, citing judge's ruling

"Until further notice, and unless otherwise provided in this guidance, the DACA policy will be operated on the terms in place before it was rescinded on September 5, 2017", a USCIS statement said.

• Provide a long-term permanent legislative solution for persons with protection under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The administration said in September that it was concluding the program.

It was unclear at the time, The Washington Post reported, when DACA recipients could begin applying for renewal of their work permits as a result of the court order.

The Department of Justice has indicated it will appeal the judge's decision, a move that could again put the program on hold.

The lawsuit was brought against the Trump administration by the Regents of the University of California system and its president, Janet Napolitano.

Duda was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays during the season, and Smith, 22, struggled offensively, batting just.198. When he returned from his injury, NL Rookie of the Year Cody Bellinger had taken over at first base.

Trump questioned why the US would accept more immigrants from Haiti and "shithole countries" in Africa rather than places like Norway, as he rejected a bipartisan immigration deal.

But last week, a federal judge in San Francisco said the almost 690,000 DACA recipients must retain their work permits and their protection from deportation while a lawsuit moves forward.

Former DACA recipients whose grant expired before that date cannot request a renewal, but they can file a new request, the agency said. As of September, about 700,000 people are now protected under the program. Under Alsup's ruling, renewal applications must still be accepted, giving those approved another two years from the new date of their application approval.

The cost to file a renewal application will be the same as before, $495.

The Obama administration began the program in 2012, which enabled certain young immigrants brought to the USA illegally as children to apply for work permits and protection from deportation. That suit challenges the decision to end the program.
