The Mercedes took off with Wallace standing in front of the auto, and he was dragged on the hood of the vehicle and knocked to the ground.

Police in NY have arrested two suspects in connection with a hit-and-run on an NYPD officer in Times Square over the weekend.

Lopez and Santos are reportedly members of a vehicle club and have pending criminal cases against them, including a charge of unlawfully fleeing a police officer. And just a day before the Times Square incident, police say Lopez fled a traffic stop in the same Mercedes, taking off on the sidewalk and almost hitting officers and people.

ARFHY SANTOS (LEFT) and another man, William Lopez of Highbridge, face multiple charges.

Authorities believe 20-year-old Arfhy Santos was driving the vehicle that struck the officer while fleeing the scene, and that 24-year-old William Lopez was the passenger.

Chris Christie stopped at TSA for evading security checkpoint
Christie, and the state trooper who accompanied him for his security detail, complied with the instructions, the person said. On his way to Boston this morning, Christie reportedly ran into a bit of trouble at Newark Airport.

"Based on past actions of these two people, they don't just give up, they don't just surrender, they try to escape and they use a vehicle as a weapon to do so", Aubry said.

The Benz kept going - and clipped Wallace as it sped away.

Despite his efforts, the duo managed to make a clean getaway, traveling west on West 42nd Street - and hitting several cars in the process, officials said. "I would say he's a courageous officer", Aubry said. He called him a "brave officer" whose "instincts took over".

The officer suffered minor injuries to his right leg and hip, chest, arms and back, a source close to the department told the Post.

It was not immediately clear what charges Santos and Lopez will face.
