Engler to be MSU interim president

A longtime former Michigan governor will be named interim president of Michigan State University, according to the Associated Press, charged with guiding the public university forward after a devastating sexual assault scandal.

The eight-person board is expected to vote unanimously at a Wednesday morning board meeting to put the three-term MI governor in charge, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the board's plans.

Engler is expected to serve while the elected board of four Democrats and four Republicans searches for a permanent president.

Simon resigned last Wednesday amid calls to step down from former sports doctor Larry Nassar's abuse survivors, local politicians and many more, despite continued support from the Board.

This sensor only works with OLED displays because it doesn't need backlighting as is the case with having LCD displays. In fact, there is a high chance of the next OnePlus smartphone, Vivo's not so distant cousin, to adopt the same.

Engler served in both chambers of the MI state legislature before winning his bid for governor in 1990. It's the color of sexual assault awareness. A Detroit News investigation found that 14 staff members at MSU, including Simon, were notified of sexual abuse allegations involving Nassar over two decades.

Engler, the chairman of the board and other trustees did not immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday. He remained governor until 2002, when he transitioned into lobbying.

Nassar worked at Michigan State from 1997 to 2016 and received his osteopathic medical degree there in 1993, the Indianapolis Star reported. "He is a strong leader with a proven track record of reform, and the school needs someone who is able to come in from the outside, stand up to the status quo and make immediate changes", Leonard said.
