EA's Star Wars Battlefront 2 Still Sold 9 Million Copies Despite Controversies

However, EA is on track to sell another 1M to 3M more by the end of fiscal 2018. Among them is the release date of the Star Wars title that Respawn Entertainment, a studio known for its work on Titanfall, is preparing.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" was first released on November 17 and was specifically released roughly a month before the premiere of "The Last Jedi".

Sales of Battlefront II came in lower than expected (and lower than its predecessor), with 9 million units sold during the fiscal quarter (October through December) versus EA's projection of 10 million units. Still, despite all this, the game still managed to sell well.

The news of Battlefront 2's sales performance comes after plans to overhaul the game's progression system were revealed.

The gaming community was outraged over the company's pricing of in-game purchases for the "Star Wars Battlefront II" game, with many complaining that the option gave unfair advantage to the well-heeled.

Andrew Luck "very close" to throwing again
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Luck now doesn't need another procedure before he resumes football activities. Realistically, it may be three months or more before Luck can be sure he will be fine for the 2018 season.

Jorgensen made the confirmation with the Wall Street Journal, bundling the re-introduction of the (hated) microtransactions with the game's financial results.

In his 6/10 review, our own Brett Phipps wrote: "Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a great game spoiled by a bad business model".

"Your feedback has been essential here, and we are preparing significant changes to progression that will address numerous things we've seen players asking for". "So we removed the feature that was taking away from what fans were telling us was an otherwise great game".

According to Wilson, the company "never meant to launch a game that could be perceived as unfair or lacking clear progression".
