About that memo, who do you believe: Nunes, or your own eyes?

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday that the Democratic response "is going through the same process and procedure" that the Republican memo released last week alleging FBI and Justice Department surveillance abuses in the Russian Federation investigation.

Trump also also fired off a missive at the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee - knocking Rep. Adam Schiff, D-California, as "one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington" and calling him "Little Adam Schiff".

The GOP-produced memo released last week contends that when the FBI asked a secret court for a warrant to do surveillance on a former associate in then-candidate Donald Trump's campaign, the bureau relied too heavily on a dossier compiled by an ex-British spy whose opposition research was funded by Democrats.

Democrats on the panel wrote the memo in an effort to counter some of the arguments and evidence put forward by Republicans in a document of their own, declassified by Trump last week.

Some Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee said over the weekend their memo stops short of vindicating the president and urged the Mueller investigation and others to continue.

Members of the House intelligence committee on Monday voted to release a memo penned by committee Democrats in response to a controversial Republican document accusing the FBI of bias in its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Some Republican members of the committee have said they will join Democrats in backing the release of their memo, which under the House "Rule X" would also require Mr Trump's authorisation as not posing "a threat to the national interest". Republicans leaving the closed-door meeting on Monday said they support its release, which is now in the hands of the White House.

It increased, as 39 investors sold BEN shares while 185 reduced holdings. 142 funds opened positions while 524 raised stakes. About 9.00 million shares traded. 25,000 shares were sold by SWAN ROBERT HOLMES, worth $937,805 on Thursday, September 7.

But he said importantly that if the White House makes any redactions to the Democratic memo, he wants the administration to come in and explain to the committee itself why they're making those.

That order was sought in October 2016, but the memo notes the FBI investigation opened in late July 2016 after the agency received information about another Trump campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos. And that, of course, was a point of friction over the Republican memo. Trump told a crowd in OH on Monday, hinting at the memo's fallout in Washington. If the President objects, the House Intelligence Committee could send the matter to the full House to debate in closed session and vote on whether to make the memo public. This is one reason Democrats on the committee say the memo is wrong and would be discredited if the entire FISA application for Page were declassified.

In another tweet Monday, Trump praised Nunes for the memo, saying he "may someday be recognized as a Great American Hero for what he has exposed and what he has had to endure!" That dossier was financed in part by the Democratic National Committee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. They are right to be concerned that the president will and has violated the post-Watergate tradition of keeping federal law enforcement independent from the president and the White House.

"The Republican document is one-sided - that memo is not even about this investigation", said U.S. Sen.

"This despicably wrong decision is a desperate attempt by President Trump and his Capitol Hill lackeys to smear the special counsel and it will fail", Blumenthal said.

"I think it would be a mistake for anyone to suggest that the special counsel shouldn't complete his work".

Top lawmakers making the Sunday talk show rounds said the Russian Federation probe led by special counsel Robert Mueller should continue without interruption.
