Watch live as 'Starman' drives Elon Musk's Tesla in space

The Facon Heavy's 27 engines thundered into life at Cape Canaveral at 12:45 p.m.

Carrying the SpaceX founder's personal Tesla, Falcon Heavy took flight on Tuesday around 3:45pm EST from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Two of them are scheduled to touch down at landing pads operated by Musk's company SpaceX at the Cape Canaveral Air Base. The launch window is from 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm Eastern.

Of course, this is only if everything goes according to plan. If the weather turns, it could be pushed to tomorrow.

The test flight, which has come at a cost of around $1 billion, was initially planned for 2013, but long delays and design changes have held it back.

"If we got the footage. that sounds like some pretty fun footage if the cameras didn't get blown up as well, then we'll put that up. for - you know - just the blooper reel", Musk added.

Musk says it hit the water with such force that shrapnel flew onto the droneship's deck and took out two engines. Again, that's the end goal, and it's entirely possible that the rocket fuel might freeze, which would prevent escape from Earth's orbit, in which case the rocket (and that shiny Tesla) could burn to a crisp. Their ultimate goal, as Musk has made abundantly clear, is to send people to Mars.

Not only did the rocket lift a red sports auto into orbit - with a dummy "Starman" at the wheel - two of the three boosters came back and landed upright at Cape Canaveral.

A successful launch would be a milestone for SpaceX, as the 230-foot-tall Falcon Heavy is created to be larger and cheaper than any rockets now being launched by the company's competitors thanks in part to its reusable boosters. It could explode on takeoff and be a waste of time, but it could also be a successful and more extravagant publicity stunt than those 'flamethrowers' Musk's Boring Company released recently.

Knicks center Willy Hernangomez requests trade out of NY , per report
It's understandable for Hernangomez to feel jolted, but he's frustrated with his role, not adamant about leaving the organization. However, that doesn't mean that Hernangomez is requesting a trade (though his representatives are pushing for this option).
