AT&T reveals its first three mobile 5G cities

The cities of Dallas, Atlanta and Waco have been selected by AT&T as the first to receive mobile 5G services by the end of the year.

Trials on 5G networks have already been initiated in Europe, the USA and South Korea, but the technology is expected to be fully developed and pushed out to the general public only by 2020.

While today's news is an exciting and concrete step forward for 5G in the United States, it's worth underscoring that AT&T's language hedges a little, saying that its mobile 5G service will be available in "parts of Dallas, Atlanta and Waco" rather than blanketing each city immediately. To help meet its goals, it will be opening a new 5G test lab in Austin, Texas. "Our mobile 5G firsts will put our customers in the middle of it all".

With a mobile 5G network and a compatible 5G smartphone, customers can expect multiple gigabits per second speed on their devices with lower latency. Unless you're a chipset maker like Qualcomm or a network carrier like Verizon and AT&T. Perhaps the presence of a 5G network will fuel demand from customers and force the manufacturers to hit the market with devices at an increased pace.

Tickets For Eurostar Service From London To Amsterdam Go On Sale
Eurostar said at present, it does not yet have a revised time for when the tickets will go on sale. It will stop in Brussels and Rotterdam before arriving in Amsterdam.

The initial 5G coverage will operate over millimetre wave (mmWave) spectrum, which doesn't offer the best range and will only provide 5G in some areas, before deploying the technology on additional spectrum bands at a later time. The lab is also equipped with an outdoor 5G testbed to trial a variety of 5G applications and real-world use cases, including the Advanced 5G NR Testbed System (ANTS), proprietary to AT&T. "We will add more 5G capable mobile devices and smartphones in early 2019 and beyond".

The company also said that it deploying 5G capabilities in LTE network.

The company has not mentioned the neighborhoods where it will roll out the network but it would announce the additional cities in the coming months.
