Tickets For Eurostar Service From London To Amsterdam Go On Sale

They are set to be on sale from £35 one-way.

Eurostar said at present, it does not yet have a revised time for when the tickets will go on sale.

Cross-Channel high speed train operator Eurostar ran a preview service between London St Pancras and Amsterdam Centraal on February 20, to mark the opening of ticket sales for the regular twice-daily service which is scheduled to begin on April 4.

Bureaucratic wrangling between United Kingdom and Dutch governments mean for now, passengers returning to the United Kingdom will have to change trains and go through passport control in Brussels, adding an hour to the return journey.

Although offering a direct service, return journeys will include a change of trains in Brussels to allow necessary passport and security checks to be carried out, at least until an agreement is made between the United Kingdom and Netherland governments. For the first time, passengers will be able to travel from St Pancras, in the heart of London, directly to the Netherlands at a speed of 300 kph in just three hours.

It will stop in Brussels and Rotterdam before arriving in Amsterdam.

Speaking today, Petrovic said: "Today's inaugural service heralds an exciting new chapter in the expansion of high speed rail, strengthening the trading and tourism links between the United Kingdom and mainland Europe".

Eurostar will initially operate two trains a day but discussions are already taking place to increase this to three trains in 2019.
