Public Knowledge Challenges Reckless FCC Net Neutrality Rollback

After Ajit Pai-led Federal Communications Commission made a decision to repeal net neutrality rules, the Commission has today announced that the end will go into effect on April 23. The decision to rescind net neutrality, Obama-era regulations that ensure equal access to the internet, came in a 3-2 party line vote from the FCC in December where the panel's Republican members outvoted its Democrats.

With the proposal on the Federal Registrar, opponents will now be able to sue. "The repeal of net neutrality would turn internet service providers into gatekeepers - allowing them to put profits over consumers while controlling what we see, what we do, and what we say online".

The publication of the document is required in the Federal Register, a U.S. government website, before state attorney generals and advocacy groups can launched their own legal challenges to halt the FCC's action. Susan Collins (R-ME) also said that she supports keeping the agency's 2015 net neutrality rules. "The FCC is on the wrong side of history and the wrong side of the law and it deserves to have its handiwork revisited, reexamined, and ultimately reversed".

The Wells Fargo & (WFC) - Analysts' Recent Ratings Changes
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. price was kept to a minimum $322.1 in intra-day trade and has returned -14.08% this year alone. Bears reigned on a dull-volume day for Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) which added $0.09 between open and close.

Yet the overturning of the net neutrality rules had been as opposed by many in the tech industry and beyond.

FCC chairman Ajit Pai speaks ahead of the commission's vote on net neutrality rules, December 14, 2017. A group of more than 20 attorneys general, including New York's Eric Schneiderman, has already announced its plan to legally challenge the repeal, as have a number of other groups, including the National Hispanic Media Coalition, Public Knowledge, and Free Press.
