Margot Robbie to play Sharon Tate in Tarantino's Manson film

Oscar-nominated actor Margot Robbie has entered negotiations to play Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino's Charles Manson drama ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD.

Hype is seriously building for Quentin Tarantino's forthcoming Charles Manson movie, which he recently announced would be named Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Tarantino reportedly met with Robbie to discuss the role last summer, but he never officially offered her the job - until now. Tate is indeed a character in the new film, as Rick Dalton's next door neighbour. "And I couldn't be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio and Pitt as Rick and Cliff".

The movie takes place in Los Angeles in 1969 at the height of hippy Hollywood.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is slated to premiere on August 9, 2019, one day after the 50th anniversary of the tragic event which happened on the night of August 8, 1969.

There had been talks that the film would link to the murder of Sharon Tate by the Manson family. "Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don't recognize anymore", explains the site.

"I've been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old", he said. The role would be the latest career high for Robbie, whose turn as disgraced American figure skater Tonya Harding in I, Tonya earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress this year. It's the first film Tarantino will shoot since severing ties with the Weinstein Company. Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are already confirmed, and if Robbie joins the killer lineup she'll be playing the role of Tate.
