Vincent and Kompany toast City's EPL title

The league triumph was delayed following the surprise 3-2 defeat at the Etihad Stadium last week but after City beat Spurs 3-1 at Wembley on Saturday, coupled with Manchester United losing 1-0 to West Brom, the league's worst team, City are officially champions.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany was proud of the way his side responded against Tottenham to overcome a "tough week" and edge closer to the Premier League title.

"I've never been able to retain a title and I want to see if this team can be even more successful".

In his second season in charge, Guardiola, aided by the vast financial backing of City´s Abu Dhabi-based owners, has created a sublime team that helped him become the first Spanish coach to win the English top-flight title.

Vincent Kompany says it's too early to say whether they are the best EPL team ever.

"I'm extremely proud about this and extremely aware of how fast these moments can go".

Kompany was joined by Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Fabian Delph and Kyle Walker joined the skipper at a packed Hale Wine Bar, where the players were seen belting out Oasis' Wonderwall and being serenaded by supporters expressing their delight and gratitude.

"It differs because we were consistent the whole season, that level expected of us".

"You can't take (winning the league) for granted, I've won three now but there's so many we've missed", he said.

"I'm happy and I suppose some of my team-mates will roll their eyes when they hear me say this but I want to see how the reaction is going to be now".

"You can't stay in your front room when you win the Premier League", one of those associated with City said as he exited the venue to no doubt continue the celebrations elsewhere.

"I think we share one thing maybe, the hunger and desire to never be satisfied", said Kompany. It's just one title.

"The conditions were different to what he had at other clubs, but his methods were right and were what we believed in". "It was a wonderful goal from Rodriguez - thank you".

"It shows what football is in Manchester". There have been a lot more good days for the Red side but today it is for the Blue.
