Accuser's mom: Cosby called himself a 'sick man'

In her testimony on Friday, Constand denied ever having intimate contact with Cosby prior to the night in January 2004 that she said he drugged and molested her, but Mesereau showed her a 2005 deposition in which she testified that she told her mother she'd occasionally been affectionate toward him.

Ms Constand, who was director of operations for the Temple University women's basketball team at the time, said she was calling only on matters of business at the university, where he was a powerful trustee.

The defense plans to call as a witness a former Temple administrator, Marguerite Jackson, to testify that before Constand lodged her allegations against Cosby in 2005, Constand had mused to her about setting up a "high-profile person" and filing suit.

Jackson, who claims she and Constand were friends and had shared hotel rooms several times, was blocked from testifying at the first trial after Constand denied knowing her.

Jackson was blocked by A judge from testifying at the demo, which ended in a hung jury, after Constand denied knowing her and also chose the stand of past year. However, she has since modified her statement, saying she "recalls a Margo".

Mesereau hasn't set off many of fireworks yet, but in more than two hours of cross examination on Friday the veteran trial lawyer had Constand flustered with questions about whether she'd ever said she was affectionate toward Cosby, and a line of attack centred on her involvement in a Ponzi scheme.

Cosby attorney Tom Mesereau, who's predicted Constand that a "con artist" who framed Cosby after which collected a3.4 million settlement, then requested her about Jackson throughout crossexamination on Monday.

"You have a witness on the stand right now who has changed her testimony, who has been impeached on the witness stand, at least, over six times", said Cosby spokesman Andrew Wyatt.

Mesereau then said, "Before you filed charges against Mr Cosby, did you fabricate a scheme?" After asking a question about her thoughts on Constand's job status and financial situation while at Temple, Gianna Constand said, "I'm here to discuss the incident that happened".

Andrea Constand testified Cosby knocked her out with pills and sexually assaulted her at his home in 2004.

She told jurors that she was concerned because her daughter hadn't been the same since leaving Temple in March 2004 and moving back to Canada, screaming in her sleep and waking up in a sweat. She claimed she needed to understand precisely what Cosby had contributed Andrea, prompting him to confess it absolutely was a perscription drug that he neglected to call and perhaps not the allergy medicine Benadryl advertising he maintained. She said he described how he'd touched Andrea Constand's breasts and vagina and guided her hand to his penis.

Cosby could face 10 years in prison if convicted. She maintains she viewed Cosby as a mentor and never had a romantic interest in him. But Constand's phone records show she did not make any calls to Cosby's home that month.

Mesereau also pointed out that Constand made phone calls to Cosby after the alleged assault, including on Valentine's Day.

Five other women who also allege that Cosby drugged and assaulted them were called to the stand by the prosecution.

Mesereau repeatedly asked Constand if she had abided by its terms, which barred her from initiating criminal charges against him.

She told jurors that Cosby said he "felt like a dirty old perverted man" and, at the end of the call, conceded he was a "sick man".

Constand explained that she may have been mistaken, that there were times Cosby told her in advance that the gate would be open and that she often reached him at another number.

Constand is one of about 50 women who have accused Cosby of assaults dating back decades.

Bill Cosby's chief accuser underwent further grilling Monday by defense lawyers looking to portray her as a vengeful unrequited lover to raise doubts about her credibility and motives on Day 6 of the comedian's sexual-assault retrial in suburban Philadelphia.
