Billionaire Republican Donor Will Fund Democrats 'For the Good of the Country'

The gap between support for Democrats and Republicans in House races has narrowed considerably since January, The Washington Post and ABC News poll notes. Recent polls have found conflicting evidence of whether voters are gearing up to produce a wave that would favor Democrats. He has also donated $2 million to Democratic issues such as gun control and environmental protection. The poll found that in accordance with the average border Democrats appreciated within those districts in 2014 and 2016, the candidate was preferred by voters to the Republican candidate 59% to 28 percent, at such 7 districts united. Almost half of New Jersey residents believe their taxes will go up because of the law, and only 19 percent think they will go down.

Klarman has always had a distaste for Trump, even backing Hillary Clinton in the past presidential election, after Tump won the Republican nomination. He still faces a disapproval rating of 56 percent, according to poll, which is a higher rating than any president at this stage since the dawn of modern polling.

Three-quarters of voters who prioritize enacting new gun laws support Democrats for Congress, whereas 80 percent of likely voters who believe gun rights are more important support Republicans. "They have a lot more money to spend".

Still, the analysis also shows that the average Republican candidate has raised more funds than the average Democrat.

White voters showed an increasingly strong preference for the GOP in the poll.

Under Mr. Trump, deficit reduction and spending restraint have taken a back seat to the GOP's push to cut taxes and its support for a bipartisan budget deal that raised defense and domestic spending. (This is much less negative than Trump's 57-36 percent unfavorable-favorable score, albeit with a substantially higher share of don't knows.) As such, Pelosi's impact looks like a wash overall - except, potentially, in terms of motivating the Republican base.

The survey was conducted by telephone from April 6-10 with 703 New Jersey adults, including a subset of 632 registered voters.
