Russian Federation says US-led attack on Syria will hit peace talks

Moscow's response shows Washington appears to have succeeded in delivering a blow that did not provoke Russian Federation militarily. The Pentagon said it gave no explicit warning.

"Russia condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack against Syria, where Russian military personnel are assisting the legitimate government in its counterterrorism efforts", Putin said in English language statement posted Saturday on the Kremlin's website. -Russian collisions or confrontations in Syrian airspace.

Meanwhile, the Defense Ministry in a statement said Russian military bases in Syria had not been affected by the joint strike. Not for decades, they said, had the United States and Russian Federation come so close to a direct military clash.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned the airstrikes as "an act of aggression", the country's representative informed the Council.

James Piazza, a Penn State professor and Middle East expert, said he suspects the missile attacks will have a "negligible" effect on Syria's chemical weapons abilities.

While the US, the United Kingdom and France say their joint airstrikes were justified, the action is being seen quite differently in Russian Federation.

Hundreds of Syrians demonstrated in a landmark square of the Syrian Capital, waving victory signs and honking their vehicle horns in a show of defiance.

The strikes targeted three sites believed to be where the Syrian government develops chemical weapons.

Diplomats said negotiations on the draft resolution would begin on Monday and it was not immediately clear when the United States, France and Britain wanted to put it to a vote. Its fact-finding team reached Syria on Saturday, the day of the US-led airstrikes against Syrian government targets in response to the April 7 attack.

His choice of words recalled a similar claim associated with President George W. Bush following the USA -led invasion of Iraq. She said Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin "will be announcing those on Monday, if he hasn't already".

'Al-Assad can not be part of Syria solution'
The Group of Seven leading industrialized nations has issued a joint statement endorsing the US -led air strikes in Syria. May was taking questions in Parliament about her decision to authorize the joint strikes.

Nasrallah said there is no chemical program in Syria, and he likened the attacks in Syria to the West's concern over Iran's nuclear program.

And the World Cup - which attracts more than 3 BILLION viewers and is the planet's most watched live event - is seen by many as a prime target.

"And so, I think everyone is going to feel it at this point".

"Several strikes were conducted against the scientific research centre in Barzeh and Jamraya". "It does not exist anymore".

Putin said the actions violated the U.N. Charter and if they continue, "it will inevitably entail chaos in global relations", the statement said. Russian Federation has repeatedly denied chemical weapons were used in Syria, both this year and in 2016.

Syrian air defense units downed 71 out of 103 missiles launched by the USA and its allies, it said. It would seem that French, UK, and USA aircraft launched their ordinance from outside the range of Syrian air defenses, so any intercepts would have involved missiles, rather than US allied aircraft.

"Through its actions, the US makes the already catastrophic humanitarian situation in Syria even worse and brings suffering to civilians", he said, accusing the USA of laying the groundwork for terrorists.

McKenzie said 105 U.S. and allied missiles were fired, of which 66 were Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from aboard three U.S. Navy ships and one Navy submarine. The Nazi forces' opening attack against the USSR in 1941 was launched around 4 a.m.

"These strikes are not seeking to escalate the conflict in Syria, but these violations of global law and norms can not be allowed to continue".

In response to the alleged poison gas attack in the town of Douma that killed dozens of civilians last week, the strike was aimed at cutting off chemical weapons production in Syria.
