OH boy, 13, fatally shoots 11-year-old brother with stolen gun

An investigation is underway after a 13-year-old boy was accused of fatally shooting his 11-year-old brother in suburban Cleveland.

Streetsboro police say officers were called to a home around 9:30 p.m. Monday. The 11-year-old was rushed by paramedics to University Hospitals Ravenna location, where he was pronounced dead. Officers believe the elder brother shot the 11-year-old in a premeditated attack.

Police are not releasing any names because they are juveniles. Police reports say one of the boys was reported for misbehaving by his stepmother on Thursday.

The 13-year-old brother was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and was taken to the Portage County Juvenile Detention Center.

"It doesn't happen here". The department added additional information will be released as it becomes available, pending notification of family members. No motive has been ascribed in the killing, though Cleveland.com has now reported that the 13-year-old had behavioral problems and had attempted to hurt himself four days before the shooting.

Lieutenant Tricia Wain of the Streetsboro Police Department said the handgun they believe was used in the fatal shooting had been locked in a cabinet in a grandfather's home.
