Bangladesh launches its first satellite

The main aim behind the launching of the Block 5 Falcon 9 rocket was to propel Bangladesh's first high-orbit communications satellite, namely, Bangabandhu Satellite-1.

The Bangabandhu Satellite-1 mission will be the first to utilize Falcon 9 Block 5, the final substantial upgrade to SpaceX's Falcon 9 launch vehicle.

The recoverable Block 5 booster is meant to be reused at least 10 times with minimal refurbishment involving flights, so allowing more typical rods at lower price tag - a secret into the SpaceX firm version.

SpaceX recovered the first stage of the rocket, and it touched down cleanly on the Atlantic Ocean barge "Of Course I Still Love You". NASA takes seven successful flights until the brand new enemy receives last certification for a manned mission.

Work began on the 7,700-pound (3,700-kilogram) satellite back in 2015, when it was ordered from France-based Thales Alenia Space by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission. Scheduled to launch Thursday, the launch got unexpectedly scrubbed within a minute of its expected launch. The company also arranged for the spacecraft's launch on the Falcon 9.

Increased rocket reusability also is just a core tenet of SpaceX operator and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk's wider goals of earning space traveling common place and eventually sending humans to Mars.

Palak also confirmed the satellite had been successfully deployed at Bangladesh's specified orbit slot "within 36 minutes" of the launch.

SpaceX is one of two private companies hired by NASA to ferry astronaut crews to the space station.

Friday's flight marked the ninth SpaceX launch in 2018, compared to five orbital-class missions the company had logged at the same point in 2017, according to Musk. The company will take apart the rocket now that it has landed; the inspection will confirm that SpaceX doesn't have it take it apart after every launch.

SpaceX has signed a Dollars 2.6 billion contract with the NASA to complete development of Crew Dragon, a capsule to ferry astronauts to and from the International Space Station.

Talking about the benefits of the Tk 2,765.66 crore satellite, project officials said it would immensely contribute to the digital advancement of the country.

"With the launch of Bangabandhu-1, we are hoisting our national flag into space".

"Successful deployment of Bangabandhu Satellite-1 to geostationary transfer orbit", SpaceX said on Twitter.
