Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster revealed

Mercedes estimates the GT S Roadster will hit 60 miles per hour from a standstill in 3.7 seconds.

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled another new member of the GT family - the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster.

When the Roadster version of Mercedes-AMG's GT sports vehicle was first announced back in 2016, the company elected not to offer an "S" version, rather leaving customers to choose between the 350kW base model and the more brutal GT C with 410kW and various performance parts from the GT R. This gives it 469 horsepower in the standard package and 465 pounds-feet of torque, or buyers can opt for the C version with additional grunt-515 horsepower and 494 pounds-feet of torque. Styling-wise, the AMG GT S Roadster features the same aero kit as its coupé sibling and offers the option of mixed tires sized 265/35 R19 at the front and 295/30 at the rear.

The GT S borrows the GT C's adaptive damping system, electronically controlled limited-slip differential, composite brakes and performance exhaust system, but lacks the flagship's rear-axle steering and 12-inch-wide rear wheels. Top speed for the GT is 188 miles per hour while the GT S is rated at 192 mph and the GT C at 196 mph.

Germany, Russian foreign ministers call for Iran deal to be upheld
President Donald Trump announced Washington would leave it and ordered sanctions reimposed on Tehran . Premium crude prices ended over $77 a barrel in London trading on May 9.

The power unit is what really differentiates the AMG GT S Roadster.

And there's plenty of luxury, too. This means sports seats wrapped in Artico faux leather and Dinamica microfibre with the optional extra being nappa leather. The AMG Silver Chrome and Piano Interior packages can accentuate the center console surround, air vent bezels and trim strips in the door armrests with either silver chrome or a piano lacquer look.

The company did not announce a price, but CNET expects the price to slide in between the $125,000 GT and the $157,000 GT S. Does $140,000 to $145,000 sound about right?
