BBC sees off Netflix as drama Peaky Blinders leads the pack

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) will honor voice performer Nolan North, best known as Uncharted's quip-happy protagonist Nathan Drake, with a Special Award later this year. The Handmaid's Tale, financed and first released through USA streaming service Hulu, won Best International Drama. 'I just felt like the luckiest person in the world to get to play a character who was so colourful, vivid, courageous and strong, ' she said.

Vanessa Kirby won the award for Supporting Actress for her role as Princess Margaret in The Crown, the only award won for the Netflix drama which was nominated three times. "Soon maybe they will be here as well because I think they deserve to be", he said during his acceptance speech.

The hit crime drama beat the likes of The Crown and Line of Duty to take the top prize - its only nomination - at the London ceremony, where show creator Steven Knight admitted he was a little disappointed at the lack of acting nods for the cast, which includes Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, and Paul Anderson. The drama also won best mini-series.

Sean Bean won the award for Leading Actor for his performance as a Catholic priest in Broken against Joe Cole for the "Hang the DJ" episode of Black Mirror, Tim Piggott-Smith for King Charles III and Jack Rowan for Born to Kill.
