Congrats: Taraji P. Henson receives a Mother's Day proposal

"People are hitting me up", she said.

Not only did the actress get to celebrate being a proud mom to her son Marcel, 24, but she ended the night by getting engaged to former National Football League player Kelvin Hayden and she's still over the moon about her big news.

In line with Henson, Hayden, 34, had initially hoped to ask her at a later date however was itching to pop the query. "You know what I'm saying?" added Jussie Smollett, who plays the Lyons' middle son, Jamal.

"We've been together for two years".

"I'm very happy. Everything is coming together", Henson said, before adding, "I'm happy in my personal life". And she said yes! You need to meet somebody.

But the roar coming out of the dressing room when Jimmy Corcoran saved the spot kick nearly sent the clubhouse roof into orbit! Alas, for the Irish, referee Zbynek Proske judged Corcoran (correctly) to have been well off his line when making the save.

The makeup artist arranged a party full of eligible bachelors for Henson to mingle with, but the star demanded to see photos first, and became enamored with Hayden. They started dating in 2015. "That's exactly what happened", she recalled. That's a lot of gifts for one day (and we're totally jealous).

Hayden intercepted a pass for a 56-yard touchdown when the Indianapolis Colts beat the Chicago Bears 29-17 during the Super Bowl played in 2007.

And when she has opened up about Hayden, the "Empire" star has had nothing but good things to say.

Terence Howard says Hayden must be special for Henson to choose to be with him. I didn't put it together until we went into the party room after we ate, and I saw a violinist, 'cause he was trying to say it was his friend's birthday - which it was, on Friday - 'Oh, Ronald's gonna have a little get-together in the back room.' And I was like, 'Aw, that's ideal. "That's a big move right there for her'".
