"I have no plans on leaving", said Zaha.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson has stated recently that "it's inevitable we are going to lose a few good players in the summer", further increasing speculation that the Ivorian star will be leaving Selhurst Park at the end of the season after firing them to yet another great escape.

Zaha has developed into a modern-day Palace legend in his two stints at Selhurst Park, first helping the club secure promotion to the top-flight before he was signed by Manchester United.

Hodgson still has a soft spot for West Brom, and he says it will be hard on Sunday for himself and former Baggies favourites and current Palace backroom staff Steven Reid and Dean Kiely. I'm really very disappointed that their last game in the Premier League will be against a team that I'm managing, I'd have preferred that to have fallen to somebody else because I do feel strongly for the club. We certainly don't want to sell him or need to sell him, ' Hodgson said.

"I don't blame other clubs for coveting him, but I believe he will still be our player next season".

In stark contrast to Palace, Sunday's visitors West Brom (6-13-18) began the season well with back-to-back wins, only to then capitulate and succumb to relegation after a miserable seven month run under the leadership of first Tony Pulis and then Alan Pardew - both of whom were sacked.

The Ivory Coast global grew up in Croydon and has spent the majority of his career at Crystal Palace, with a two-year spell at Manchester United.

In central London, where we met the next afternoon, Hodgson, 70, explained the formula he used back in the dark days of autumn.

The Ivory Coast worldwide capped off the campaign in great form, scoring five goals in his last seven games, which has led to speculation regarding his future at Palace.
