Meghan Markle pleads for her father to walk her down the aisle

A statement from the palace May 4 said Prince Harry and Markle were looking forward to welcoming her parents, Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland, to Windsor for the wedding.

Britain's royal family requested "understanding and respect" be extended to Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, amid the "difficult situation".

A global audience will be watching when Prince Harry weds his USA fiancee Meghan Markle on Saturday, but most Britons don't care much, a YouGov poll said on Monday.

BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell said he understood Ms Markle, 36, was distressed and concerned for the wellbeing of her father, who has been described as a rather shy and reclusive figure.

"I wanted to see him go".

Meghan Markle is estranged from her half-sister, who has not been expected to attend the nuptials, and from her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr.

It was the subject of fevered speculation among royal watchers on Monday night after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle asked for "understanding" amid claims that Thomas Markle, Meghan's father, won't be attending the royal wedding.

This is a developing story...

He also said that he had suffered a heart attack a week earlier.

More than a third of Americans believe that Markle will pay tribute to her American heritage with some aspect of the dress - be it the designer or the style - while another 40 percent think she will take some direct influence from royal weddings past. She is not among the 600 guests invited to Saturday's wedding.

Boeing found harmed by Airbus aid, exposing European Union to USA sanctions
Airbus now has a case pending at the WTO accusing the U.S. of providing illegal support for Boeing . "That ends today", he said. The shares of Airbus had fallen shortly after the WTO issued its findings and were poised to close down around 0.86 percent.

In addition, Markle told TMZ that he had suffered from a heart attack six days before, but that he had checked himself out of the hospital to attend the wedding.

And now, it's been revealed that Markle's father was paid for staged paparazzi photographs. "Ever since Meg's relationship with Harry was made public two years ago, we have lived our once normal lives under the spotlight every second", Thomas Markle Jr. said. But if you have to cast about for somebody, anybody, to play stand-in for your actual father (who, in Meg's case doesn't seem that sweet), it's anything but lovely.

"He told me that he loves me very much and he's sorry about everything that's happening".

He added: "There is no way he is not going to go to that wedding".

Diana became the most famous woman on Earth, trailed by paparazzi wherever she went - including to her death.

Kensington Palace was clearly broadsided by the claims as aides had insisted on Sunday that Mr Markle would be by his daughter's side at Windsor Castle this weekend.

"She knows she has a big support base behind her and that's all she needs to know".

Meghan Markle's father will not walk her down the aisle when she marries Prince Harry on Saturday.

Her parents split when Meghan was young, but she told Vanity Fair this year that they remain on good terms and even take vacations together as a family.
