DRC: 3rd Ebola case confirmed, in urban area

The World Health Organization sent 5,400 doses of the experimental Ebola vaccine to Congo on Wednesday, according to the health minister. The Health Ministry said vaccinations would start by early next week, the first time the vaccine would come into use since it was developed two years ago.

The U.N. World Health Organization will convene an Emergency Committee on Friday to consider the worldwide risks of an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier said on Thursday.

"Over the next few days we will be reassessing the projected numbers of cases that we might have and then if we need to bring in more vaccine we will do so in a very short notice".

"This weekend, two suspected cases of hemorrhagic fever were reported in the health zone of Wangata, one of the health zones of Mbandaka City".

The agency said it was deploying around 30 experts to Mbandaka "to conduct surveillance in the city".

The world body also says 19 deaths have also been recorded within that period with 393 people who have been identified as contacts of Ebola patients were being followed up.

Marseille coach Rudi Garcia hailed Atletico as having the best defense in Spain, and is counting on Payet to breach it. He added: "This year, we're celebrating the 25th anniversary of the only French club to win the Champions League".

"In our experience, for each confirmed case of Ebola there are about 100-150 contacts and contacts of contacts eligible for vaccination", Jasarevic said.

"The arrival of Ebola in an urban area is very concerning and WHO and partners are working together to rapidly scale up the search for all contacts of the confirmed case in the Mbandaka area", said Dr Matshidiso Moeti, WHO Regional Director for Africa.

"It is extremely hard to do that as you can imagine in a country with very poor infrastructures", Salama said.

"The most important thing is to stop the spread of the disease, and to that end, what they have to do is track down everybody - people who have contracted Ebola or even died from Ebola", CBS News foreign correspondent Debora Patta reports.

The outbreak was first spotted in the Bikoro zone, which has 31 of the cases and 274 contacts.

"We are entering a new phase of the Ebola outbreak that is now affecting three health zones, including an urban health zone", Health Minister Oly Ilunga Kalenga said in a statement.
