EA Games announces Battlefield V, to be revealed on May 23rd

Following Trevor Noah and EA's teases, the publisher has officially confirmed the next entry in the Battlefield series will be called Battlefield V.

EA have provided some more specific detail about the Battlefield V reveal event, including some hints about the game's campaign and setting. EA and DICE will be live streaming the reveal to the world via YouTube, Twitch, and other streaming services beginning at 4PM ET/1PM PT. Most exciting fact is that the new Battlefield game may include a Battle Royale mode.

The confirmation of the next Battlefield title was made over Twitter by the franchise's official account, and coincides with the recently discovered Battlefield 1 easter egg.

Every year, the highways fill with families in vehicles, on their way to visit family and start their summer vacations. If law enforcement finds you on the road unbuckled anytime or anywhere, you can expect to get a ticket, not a warning.

We've been hearing rumors for a while now that the next Battlefield game will be revealed at E3 or EA Play next month. Additionally, a new blog post provides ten things that you should know about the game before its reveal. However, the upcoming live stream will be the determining factor if Operations will be in this year's Battlefield. Tickets for this huge gaming event [VIDEO] will be distributed for free, though fans should be at the venue in order to get the free tickets.

As for Battlefield itself, I used to play BF1 religiously nearly every night, but recent changes to the game's mechanics have left me soured to the point where I've hopped into a game only twice in the last two months. Not only this but a battle royale mode is set to be included. EA is also promising new modes and experiences, changes to the core gameplay, and a campaign that once again focuses on multiple "War Stories" rather than a single longer narrative. A source close to EA said that the studio is now working on the last-man-standing mode.
