'America's Got Talent' victor Neal Boyd dead at 42

Local news provider KFVS reported that Scott County Coroner Scott Amick said a "health condition" had been responsible for Neal's death, while TMZ notes that he had an existing condition "related to his heart". Boyd died from heart failure and had several medical issues, including heart failure, kidney failure, and issues with his liver.

Boyd captivated audiences with his booming voice and quickly became a fan-favorite while competing on America's Got Talent back in 2008.

Scott County Coroner Scott Amick said Boyd, who was seriously injured in a auto crash previous year, had a number of medical problems, including heart failure, kidney failure and liver problems.

The TV star passed away at 6 pm on Sunday in his hometown of Sikeston, Missouri. The singer was reportedly at his mother's home at the time.

The singer released his debut album My American Dream in 2009, followed by My Christmas Wish in 2013. He also tried twice to win a seat in the Missouri House of Representatives but was defeated both times.

Former AGT judge Piers Morgan took to Twitter to mourn the loss of Boyd. "It's been hard, because you can't get up on stage right now, you can't perform for the audiences and you can't really do too much recording or traveling".

The Missouri native noted that "it just feels like something great is about to happen once I get back on my feet and back in front of the audience again".
