Raccoon scales St. Paul office tower, captivating public

A raccoon scaling a Minnesota skyscraper may be the most popular thing on the internet right now and it's putting many people in a Marvel state of mind - complete with Rocket Raccoon jokes.

The critter was first spotted at the Town Square building, huddled in a nook above the sidewalk. A day later, building maintenance personnel tried to rescue the animal by rigging up a 20-foot-length of lumber by screwing two-by-fours together.

A raccoon ended up in a most precarious place near the top of the UBS building.

One lucky racoon in the U.S. has not only made it (to the top of a building, that is), but has also gained world-wide attention for its dare-devil antics. "We didn't see it and thought, it went away - that's great!"

Daimler ordered to recall 774000 cars
With the new recall, Daimler is escaping massive fines of approximately $4.4 billion (estimated). It's now unclear how many models in the United Kingdom are impacted.

The raccoon received its couple of hours of fame on social media as users monitored the climb through the hashtag #mprraccoon.

If we care enough about this little rabid raccoon downtown St. Paul, maybe the window-washers could get up there.

Paige Donnelly Law, which is also located in the UBS building, posted some close-up shots of the varmint, which the law firm said "seems to be doing well".

As night descended on St. Paul, the raccoon appeared to start climbing down, before reversing course. By Wednesday morning it had made it to the roof of the building, easing fears that it would plummet to its death.
