The 29-year-old Irish fighter and co-defendant Cian (KEE'-uhn) Cowley remained free on bail after a brief court appearance on Thursday.

McGregor is scheduled to be in a NY courtroom on Thursday to make his first appearance since posting bail following his bazaar antics in early April.

In the statement outside court a member of McGregor's legal team said on his behalf 'I regret my actions that led to today.

McGregor's antics left his fellow fighters Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg with facial and eye injuries respectively.

The former two-weight world champion faced several counts including assault and criminal mischief at the Barclays Centre on April 5 as he appeared in Brooklyn this morning.

But he never defended the title, entering the boxing ring instead to take on Floyd Mayweather in August 2017, and McGregor was stripped of his title by UFC - with president Dana White announcing the decision in the build-up to UFC 223.

The last time McGregor competed in a UFC match was in November 2016 where he won by TKO over Eddie Alvarez. With that in mind, both men will appear back in the same court on July 26 and will make an actual plea before the court.
