Kim Kardashian meets Alice Marie Johnson, teaches her about Snapchat

This will be the first time the KKW beauty mogul will meet with Johnson, but the 63-year-old said that she first heard the news of her commutation from Kardashian.

"We had a really great conversation about women and wanting to help each other, and I knew that she would've understood Alice", Kardashian West said.

Kardashian West flew into the Memphis airport around 1 p.m. and went to a house in Southaven, Mississippi for a meeting with Johnson and an interview with Hoda Kotb with the "Today" show.

Kim Kardashian West traveled to MS on Wednesday to meet Alice Marie Johnson, the 63-year-old woman whose life without parole sentence was recently commuted by President Donald Trump after Kardashian West's petition.

"This is crazy. This is just insane", said Kardashian, who brought her personal attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, to the meeting.

She added, "People have been asking me, 'Are you getting into politics?' I'm like, 'No, I am still doing me, but I enjoy this. I mean I already knew just by talking to you on the phone and just seeing you in videos, but I mean you are everything and more than I ever thought".

Paris police in ‘hostage taking’ standoff with armed man
Paris prosecutors have opened a investigation into alleged kidnapping, armed violence, threatening behaviour and attempted murder. Police swept vehicles in the area with a device but found nothing, he said.

The reality star, who is perhaps better known for her selfies than social justice reform, described the process of securing Johnson's release, which had been in the works before her much-photographed visit to the Oval Office.

"I did what I knew how to do", she said.

"Thank you is not big enough", Johnson said. I'm ready to meet Kim.

Kardashian West said her mission started with a called to Ivanka Trump to plead Johnson's case and also to ask her for a meeting with her father.

Last week, an emotional Johnson marveled at her freedom after more than two decades behind bars, grateful for a second chance - and craving seafood.

"And that was the first thing I said", Kardashian West told NBC's Kotb with a smile. She said she'd spend the rest of her life thanking Kardashian West and others who helped her. "This has fulfilled my heart, and so since I feel so fulfilled, why would I stop that?'" I started reading everything that I could about her, and everyone was amazed. The 62-year-old great-grandmother was serving a life sentence on nonviolent drug and money laundering charges.
