Kyrie Irving ‘had a great time’ his first year in Boston

Kyrie Irving says he's "fully supportive" of the Celtics management's decisions, even if it includes reuniting him with LeBron James. He expects Boston's brass to discuss an extension with him at some point in the near future, but won't be signing it this summer.

Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving missed the postseason thanks to a pair of knee surgeries - the first to remove troublesome hardware, the second as a result of bacteria discovered at the site.

There is one season left on Irving's current contract. "It was going to be a process coming back, just making sure I'm healthy enough for September, so just trying not to push it too hard, just taking my time with the rehab and just feeling good".

Asked whether he just didn't like deciding his future before he had to, Irving said that he isn't necessarily against knowing his future, but that "thinking long-term and breeding all these other questions is unnecessary right now".

"That's my hope. But obviously I can't really control that. You saw guys that are literally going to be stars in this league for years to come".

North Korea sanctions remain until complete denuclearisation, says US
He later added: "We're well on our way to getting denuclearization, and the agreement says there will be total denuclearization". Those who positively viewed the Kim-Trump summit said sitting down face-to-face itself was the best outcome of the summit.

"I'm on the floor doing some running activities, but I'm not running on the treadmill or anything like that", Irving said.

"I think you guys can feel my attitude is really just redemption next year", Irving said. Until I get to that point, then I can't really answer any questions.

James has an option to renew his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers but will most likely move on and there are a number of teams eager to sign the NBA All Star. In his absence, the Celtics, disproved their doubters and made a deep run in the playoffs with only a Game 7 loss in the East finals denying them a place in the NBA Finals. "So we'll see what management decides".

For now, we'll focus on the five players - Irving, Horford, Hayward, Brown and Tatum - who could be in line for max contracts. "You just try to focus on what's important going into next year with who we have and what we're capable of". "I had been talking about how great they were".

In a recent interview, Irving was asked if he is open for a possible reunion with James in Boston. He signed a two-year deal to remain at TD Garden at least until the end of the 2018-19 season. I'm excited. What makes it even more exciting and the challenge is now we have championship pedigree. They gained a lot of experience from it. Boston's supposed interest should make him annoyed but not anxious.
