Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 details emerge - CPU

At the same time, Qualcomm is also reportedly working on Snapdragon 1000, and details about the chipset have surfaced.

Reports emerged last month that Qualcomm is working on a Snapdragon 1000 chipset for more powerful Windows 10 machines.

This new mobile platform looks to be ready to challenge Intel's low power Core processors.

Son has clearly been one of the top players on a team that's struggled on the pitch during the World Cup . "For them it is was a really important goal, of course".

That could be particularly attractive for laptops, but Qualcomm also appears to be testing a socketed design that would be aimed at desktops, WinFuture reported, citing materials provided to hardware developers by Qualcomm. The much rumored Snapdragon 1000, however, is expected to be a different story. The U series chips are used for powering Ultrabooks. However, Qualcomm is now aiming to compete at par with chipset giants such as AMD and Intel through the development of a Snapdragon 1000 series designed specifically for PCs. The kits are equipped with up to 16GB of RAM and two 128GB storage modules, along with support for gigabit network speeds. It also includes Gigabit WLAN, the software modem of the upcoming Snapdragon 855, which seems to be closely related to the new SDM1000, and a newly developed power management chip to handle the increased power and power consumption. It will use ARM's new Cortex-A76 architecture to deliver performance improvements while remaining power efficient. That came to us in the form of the interestingly named Snapdragon 850 - a mere 5 digits higher than the 845, a chip which now graces top-end Android smartphones, such as the OnePlus 6, and Samsung Galaxy S9. It is clear that the Snapdragon 1000 or a similar chip will be seen in a future Intel NUC. The dimensions of the upcoming Snapdragon 1000 are 20 x 15mm which shows that it is bigger than the recent flagship chipsets by Qualcomm.

Snapdragon 1000 has a power rating of just 6.5W.
