Do you have Comcast? There's a massive service outage across the country

In tweets to customers, Comcast directed further inquiries to its Digital Care Team.

A spokesperson for the company told CNBC that the outage is "impacting some of our internet, video and voice customers". Comcast experienced a widespread outage Friday afternoon.

Comcast's verified Twitter account replied to some users complaining about a lack of service. Cities including San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle, Atlanta, Washington, New York, and Pittsburgh reported the most problems.

This outage is causing intermittent problems for people using Comcast's Xfinity ISP.

Multiple businesses, police and emergency services across the country took to social media to let customers know how they can be reached during the outage. If you see reports that service has been restored but you're not getting a connection, rebooting your cable box or cable modem can often help.
