Scott Pruitt Just Resigned as Head of the EPA

Scott Pruitt, Trump's appointee to head the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is the latest Trump official to be confronted by protesters on their own time, The Washingtonian is reporting. That quest included setting up a call with Chick-fil-A executives, in which he discussed her becoming a franchisee, as well as outreach to a conservative judicial group that eventually hired Marlyn Pruitt.

The scandals surrounding Pruitt are plentiful-including lavish spending on office furniture, a soundproof booth, first-class flights, and now pushing his assistants to pay for his hotel reservations with their personal credit cards.

Video of a Kentucky native confronting EPA Chief Scott Pruitt in public is spreading across social media.

Surrounded by security agents, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt steps out of his armored SUV as he arrives to testify before the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Environment Subcommittee on Capitol Hill April 26, 2018 in Washington.

A manager at Teasim tells the New York Daily News that it is a restaurant that has always been outspoken on environmental issues, making it a surprising choice for Pruitt, though they are "flattered he likes our food".

Abu Dhabi Ready to Pump More Oil Under OPEC Deal
First, there are technical questions about how far and how fast Saudi Arabia can push its oil fields. Two posts on Twitter in June criticised Opec prices for being too high.

I'm not saying that he's blameless, but we'll see what happens", Trump said then, and didn't answer a reporter who asked if Trump was "tired' of Pruitt.

President Donald Trump announced Pruitt's resignation on Twitter. Trump publicly defended Pruitt and praised his job performance as recently as early June.

"I'm not happy about certain things, I'll be honest", Trump told reporters on the North Lawn of the White House. "But I am not happy about it". "But he's done a fantastic job running the EPA, which is very overriding", Trump said.

CNN interviewed several experts for the investigation who said that, if the allegations by the top EPA whistleblower are true, the practice of keeping secret calendars and altering or deleting records of meetings could violate federal law as either "falsifying records" or hiding public records. The former Oklahoma attorney general, who sued the agency more than a dozen times before running it, had been expected to return to electoral politics and run for governor, senator or possibly president.
