Suzuki revamps Jimny with classic look

The Jimny Sierra will come with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with a displacement of 1,460cc.

The fourth-gen Suzuki Jimny Sierra sits on a ladder-frame chassis.

But what the Jimny does do is tackle the rough stuff in a way nothing else can - certainly nothing else remotely close to its price - and the new Jimny, due to arrive in the United Kingdom in 2019, promises more of that, but with an added dose of modernity.

In SA, the Jimny is likely to be powered by a "newly developed" 1,5-litre petrol engine.

The new Jimny comes with a part-time four-wheel drive system with high and low-range modes, though it channels power to the rear wheels in standard form.

Canadian Fishing Boats Harassed By US Border Patrol, Officials Reported
That debate has come to a head lately, starting with a June 25 Facebook post in which a Canadian fisherman alleged that U.S. He has argued that Canada and the USA should submit the disagreement to arbitration at the world court.

It has, however, retained one special feature that has earned it an nearly cult-like following the world over; the extra grunt gets channeled via your choice of either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission, and an old-school manual transfer case to either the rear wheels (2H) or all four (4H/4L) as the terrain demands, with automatic individual braking of any wheel that tries to break free (AllGrip Pro). Depending on the gearbox fitted, the Jimny will have a top speed of 90mph with the manual and 87mph with the automatic. The new Jimny sticks with low range gear selector for its 4WD system to the former system to maximise its off-road adjustability. It also gets three-link rigid axle suspension for off-road agility.

The new Jimny won't arrive in the United Kingdom until early in 2019. Much of the design appears similar to that applied to the latest Mercedes-Benz G-class, such as the squared-off wheel arches and tail-lights located low on the bumper.

In terms of dimension, the Suzuki Jimny measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width, and 1,725 in height, while offering a ground clearance of 205 mm. The insides of Suzuki Jimny get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a multi-function three-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, digital driver information display, among other things.

Boot space in the new Jimny starts at 85 litres with the rear seats in use and expands to 377-litres (53 litres more than the old car) when the rear seats are folded.
