Brock Lesnar Challenges New UFC Heavyweight Champ Daniel Cormier

Lesnar was in attendance for UFC 226 in Las Vegas and watched light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier stop heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic in the first round to join Conor McGregor as the only fighter to hold two championship belts simultaneously.

Cormier then called out WWE champion Brock Lesnar, who was in attendance and entered the ring.

Cormier added the heavyweight championship to his light heavyweight title when he stopped Stipe Miocic in dramatic fashion during the first round of their superfight at UFC 226. "Of course I want a rematch, but right now I've got bigger fish to fry". Lesnar entered the Octagon and immediately shoved Cormier and the two almost came to blows. He's a former UFC champion. As the round hit the midway point, Cormier started to tag Miocic with some hard jabs. Prior to Lesnar's appearance on Saturday night, Fightful.com's Sean Ross Sapp noted on Twitter that he had been told Brock would be at the show for the main event.

Speaking to the press after the event, UFC president Dana White wouldn't confirm the date or the venue, but he did confirm that Lesnar would indeed be Cormier's first UFC heavyweight title defence, saying: "We're definitely going to make that fight". Cormier was chasing history as a win would mean he'd be a two-division champion. "I never knew what I could become, but tonight, I got the answer".

India , who won the first match by eight wickets, started poorly after losing the toss and slumped to 22 for three. Suresh Raina , however, tried to contribute but the Uttar Pradesh batsmen only managed to score 27 runs.

"Push me now, [and] you're going to sleep later", Cormier yelled at Lesnar. Both competitors spent a great deal amount of time through the fight just positioning and staring at one another. White claimed Lesnar reached out to him a couple days ago and told him he was going to be at the fight. That result was later changed to a "no contest" after it was revealed Lesnar failed multiple drug tests.

"I, ugh, I, ugh, I was a heavyweight a long time and I left the division", Cormier (21-1) said.

"Speculation has run rampant over Lesnar's future for much of this year, starting with Lesnar posing for photos next to White on the night of WWE Elimination Chamber 2018. That's a battle I've got to win".

The current WWE champion hasn't fought since UFC 200 in July 2016, where he defeated his opponent Mark Hunt via unanimous decision.
