Zsa Zsa, the Anoka bulldog recently crowned the ‘World’s Ugliest Dog,’ dies

The nine-year-old English bulldog, whose lolling tongue and crooked underbite made her the victor back in June, died in her sleep, the post said.

A 9-year-old English bulldog has died just weeks after winning the 2018 World's Ugliest Dog contest.

The canine won the hearts of people with her slobbery tongue, squished-in face and sparkly pink collar. "It's been two weeks and I still don't believe it", Brainard told the TV show.

Despite her appearance, she thought she was a star and was named after the Hungarian actress Zsa Zsa Gabor because, according to her owner, she would lie around 'like a attractive model'.

"She's been staying over at my dad's house". Zsa Zsa family said she died in her sleep in Minnesota. "We were all saying our goodbyes".

Zsa Zsa won the 30th annual contest in the San Francisco Bay Area on June 23.

Brainard also recalled how happy the English bulldog was after winning the contest: "She knew she was special". "She never really showed much excitement but yes, she was definitely living it up after she won". She said her family held a small memorial for the pooch, known to love Slim Jims and burritos from the Mexican fast-food chain Chipotle.

The contest sounds more negative than it is - its objective is to raise awareness of pet adoption and to show that all dogs are handsome in their own way, and worthy of love.
