Theresa May focused on boosting U.S. trade relationship during Trump's visit

Trump will spend Thursday night in London at Winfield House, the official residence of U.S. Ambassador to Britain Robert "Woody" Johnson.

"I don't get to see him almost as much as I used to get to see him and I'm excited to spend a couple of days with him - we're going to have a great time".

Mr Trump arrived at London Stansted Airport at 2pm on Thursday for his four-day working visit.

U.S. president Donald Trump is set to touch down in Britain for a highly controversial visit after sparking a new firestorm on the worldwide stage.

"I think whenever his detractors go after him, it makes him double down and it actually encourages him to keep going and prove everybody wrong", she said.

A leaflet for a protest against Donald Trump is seen amongst Labour party flags at the Solidarity Tent at Labour Live, White Hart Lane, Tottenham on June 16, 2018 in London, England.

Marches have been organised by the Stop Trump Coalition, Women's March London, Campaign Against Climate Change the People's Assembly and War on Want among others, and a giant "Trump Baby" blimp will fly over Parliament Square.

Trump has always been a Brexit supporter and has expressed enthusiasm for a wide-ranging trade deal with Britain after Brexit, something heralded by eurosceptics as being one of the great benefits of exiting the bloc. "But maybe they're taking a little bit of a different route, so I don't know if that's what they voted for". "I like Boris Johnson, I've always liked him", said Mr Trump.

Mrs May will host the president and Melania Trump at a dinner at Blenheim Palace this evening and a military ceremony will greet the President as he arrives.

One such protest will entail a 19-foot-high orange balloon shaped like Trump as a baby, which London Mayor Sadiq Khan - who's feuded with the president - approved under "the right to peaceful protest".

The events include an anti-Trump welly toss, a Trump's head coconut shy and satirical mini golf.

The US embassy in London warned Americans in the United Kingdom to keep a "low profile" and be aware of their surroundings as US President Donald Trump visits in the coming days.

Later, Trump will take tea with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle, a home to the royals for 1,000 years, part of a tour created to keep him away from protesters.

Trump flies in after the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels and leaves Britain on Sunday for talks in Helsinki the following day with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
