Game of Thrones racks up 22 Emmy nominations

Several performers with Oklahoma ties made the list when the nominees for the 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced today. It is worth noting that this is the first year that WWE was able to get their programming on the preliminary ballot. Both Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) were snubbed in the Lead Actor and Lead Actress categories while Sophie Turner (Sophie Turner) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) missed out on Best Supporting Actress bids.

HBO's fantasy dragons-and-swords saga is a two-time best drama victor that sat out the last year's Emmys because of its production schedule.

To little surprise, Game of Thrones leads with 22 nominations, followed by Westworld and Saturday Night Live, which each boast 21.

Hulu scored 27 nominations from the Television Academy for the 70th annual primetime television awards, up from 18 a year ago, with 20 of those nominations for "The Handmaid's Tale".
