US forces European Union into buying LNG

The Kremlin on Thursday rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's description of Germany as a "captive" of Russian Federation due to its energy reliance, saying Moscow and Berlin were equally dependent on each other.

He also said that the project will make Germany dependent on Russian Federation.

Five European companies have been involved in Nord Stream 2 - Wintershall and Uniper from Germany, OMV from Austria, Anglo-Dutch Shell and Engie from France. Macron said he was not surprised by such behavior trump.

Vice-President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic has informed the U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry about the proposal of the EC for correcting the EU gas directive in connection with the discussions on Nord Stream 2.

"We're also going to discuss one other specific issue of deep concern to me and to everybody here, and I think that's the Nord Stream 2 pipeline", Kerry said then.

However, he acknowledged that the number of incidents on the streets may have been 10 times higher but not reported. Addiechi added that it was not a "proactive campaign" but said "we'll take action against things that are wrong".

According to the US Energy Information Adminstration, US exports of LNG soared from 0.5 billion cubic feet per day in 2016 to 1.94 billion cubic feet per day previous year. In August 2016, Biden decried Russia's use of its energy resources as a weapon to influence other countries and called the North Stream 2 pipeline a "fundamentally bad deal" for the continent.

He said that "Germany is totally controlled by Russian Federation, cause they are getting 60 to 70 percent of their energy from Russian Federation and a new pipeline". "I'm pretty sure that Germany will, to some degree, try to diversify its sources of supply so that Russian gas will not account for more than 40% or so of its imports", Kokin said. "In theory, if you tried to imagine a scenario where all the imports from the Netherlands stopped altogether, and there was only Norway and Russian Federation left as sources of gas, then it's possible that Russian Federation basically increases its share up to 60-70%".

He added that "I think these countries have to step it up, not over a 10 year period, they have to step it up immediately".

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Trump's statement marked an escalation of a United States campaign to talk down Russian gas supplies to Europe in an attempt to push the USA energy sector instead.
