Twitter Account Purges Continue As Service Cuts Guccifer 2.0 And DCLeaks

The move comes a day after the Justice Department announced the indictment of 12 Russian intelligence officers, accusing them of a "sustained effort" to penetrate the computers and email accounts of Democrats and the staged releases of documents to impact the election.

The DOJ also accused the 12 suspects of conspiring to hack into the computers of state boards of elections, secretaries of state, and USA companies that produced software used by states for administering elections. They included my exchange with Guccifer, which is now public, in the indictment. "If you were going to engage in espionage, I don't think that's where you would do it".

The indictment charges no Americans with wrongdoing, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein emphasized the indictment doesn't even accuse Americans of knowingly communicating with Russians. "I never spoke to him about Guccifer", he said.

Robert Mueller, who is investigating the Russian interference, noted during the press conference that the hackers sought to obscure their identities by utilizing hundreds of different email address to make their transactions.

"There's a substantial amount of evidence to the contrary", he said. That same message shows up in screen shots that Stone previously released of an exchange he had over Twitter with Guccifer 2.0.

US woman rescued a week after California cliff plunge
Ms Hernandez had been travelling from OR to Southern California to visit sister Isabel when her communication suddenly stopped. She said she lost control of her white Jeep Patriot near Nacimiento Fergusson Road at the south end of Big Sur State Park.

One attempt noted in the indictment appeared to come hours after Donald Trump suggested Russians look for Clinton's emails.

Two GRU teams in particular, Units 26165 and 74455, both located in Moscow, carried out most of the campaign, beginning in early 2016, according to the indictment.

The indictment also provides insight into how the Russians who worked for the St. Petersburg-based Internet Research Agency meddled in the US political process through social media. Stone also told CNN that the documents "don't provide any evidence of collaboration or collusion".

"The indictment does not allege or even allude that I was part of this alleged hacking nor does it allege or allude to me having anything to do with getting the allegedly hacked material to WikiLeaks", Stone adds in the statement.

The GOP operative told The Hill earlier Friday that his messages with Guccifer 2.0 are "benign based on its content context and timing". The exchange, recounted in paragraph 44 of the indictment, matches a known Twitter interaction with Stone, in which "Guccifer 2.0" praised Stone as a "great man" and offered to help Stone and the Trump campaign. The group also actively targeted and hacked individual members part of the Clinton Campaign, the DOJ said.
