Trump’s ‘would’ versus ‘wouldn’t’ excuse for Russian Federation remarks becomes a meme

The remarks again appeared to contradict his top advisers on the threat posed by Russian Federation, just one day after he said he accepted the conclusion of United States intelligence officials on Moscow's interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.

Critics have accused Trump of siding with Russian Federation over his own country by failing to criticize Moscow for what us intelligence agencies a year ago described as Russia's election interference in an attempt to sow discord, aid Trump's candidacy and disparage Trump's Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton.

"The President has made clear to Vladimir Putin that he should stay out of USA elections", she said.

The whirlwind reversals undermined Republican efforts to push Trump back on message on Russian Federation.

Again on Wednesday, he told CBS he agreed with those U.S. findings.

What did Trump say at the summit?

'Yeah and I've said that before, Jeff. The mother of one from nearby Franklin, Tennessee, had heard about Trump's meeting with Putin ahead of the summit and the subsequent negative press, but hadn't looked into the outcome herself. When asked the question Wednesday, he answered "no", a reply that put him sharply at odds with recent public warnings from his own intelligence chief.

More than two hours later, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders sought to quell the latest controversy, stating that Trump was saying "no" to whether he would take further questions - not to whether he thinks Russian Federation continues to target the United States.

"The president is going to meet with his team and we'll let you know when we have an announcement on that", Sanders said.

White House denies that Trump said Russian Federation no longer targeting U.S.
The speaker said he stood by his Monday statement that "the president must appreciate that Russian Federation is not our ally". He then veered from his script to hedge on who was responsible for the election interference: "It could be other people also".

In another tweet Thursday, Trump claimed that his summit with Putin "was a great success, except with the real enemy of the people, the Fake News Media". "Is he open to having USA officials questioned by Russian Federation?" asked the New York Times White House reporter Maggie Haberman asked.

Trump had earlier talked of an offer by Vladimir Putin for Russia to help with the probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

United States lawmakers are calling for a court demand to be issued for the notes of the United States translator who accompanied Mr Trump to his two-hour meeting with Mr Putin. "He understands it, and he's not happy about it".

Earlier this week, Trump held a historic summit with the Russian President.

Nancy Pelosi, Democratic leader in the House of Representatives, tried on Tuesday to stage a symbolic vote to support the findings of Russian interference, but was blocked by Republicans.

"Vladimir Putin has been after me for a long time even when I was ambassador", McFaul told MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on Wednesday.

"Trump may well be honest about it, but the fact is that he's behaving like a controlled spy", he said.

"I don't want to use the word 'adversary.' We can work together, everybody can do well, and we can live in peace", Trump told Fox News host Tucker Carlson. "We want to see the notes", Senator Bob Menendez, the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told MSNBC. But I do think there was skepticism from the get-go - from that day to this day - that indicated that anything that attacked the legitimacy or questioned the legitimacy of now-President Trump's election, he just couldn't get his head around.
