Reigning Premier League Champions, Manchester City, secured a 2-0 victory over FA Cup holders, Chelsea, at the FA Community Shield on Sunday (August 5).

From the brilliant Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez's encouraging debut to John Stones starring at centre-back and, later, defensive midfield, City were brilliant across the pitch.

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has not held discussions with Eden Hazard over the star forward's future and insists there is "no problem" with the Belgium global.

Some of their lethargy going forward could be put down to the heat, which made it hard for both sides to sustain any sort of tempo.

Man City were effortless throughout and look as though they've picked up where they left off last term, while it's clear that Sarri has a lot of work to do at Stamford Bridge.

Guardiola's starting XI was without Gabriel Jesus, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Nicolas Otamendi, Vincent Kompany and Raheem Sterling among others, but that caused no problems whatsoever.

But they produced a controlled and efficient performance to secure their third piece of silverware in the past six months.

Manchester City make as many headlines in off season as they do during the campaign.

In the United Kingdom, the FA Community Shield game will live stream via BT Sport.

Duncan Castles: Man United could rekindle interest in 29-year-old
With the two Premier League clubs having rescinded their offers, it now leaves Mina with no suitors at the current time. It is added that the club are now expecting a £60m deal to go through for the Belgium global .

Chelsea have signed just one player this summer who is likely to be directly involved in the first-team - that's Jorginho.

It was interesting to see Tiemoue Bakayoko not even named on the Chelsea bench against City.

Pep Guardiola insisted that Phil Foden will be a Manchester City player "for a long time" following the 18-year-old's impressive display against Chelsea in the Community Shield. "The players are in bad, bad condition and hopefully this week we have seven days and the next week seven days more where we can increase our level".

Foden, who made five substitute appearances in the league last season and also featured in the League Cup and the Champions League, started at Wembley as he has in preseason friendlies and set up Sergio Aguero's first goal.

"He's one year more mature, he trained all the season with us, so he fought with all our players". Looked for all the world to be a third City goal.

Winning over Guardiola was arguably Aguero's greatest achievement however as the Spaniard had doubts about his ability to fit into a style of play that demands mobile forwards.

"The future of Hazard, Willian (below) and the rest of the players defend on the club, not just me", continues Sarri.

Moving away from a three-man defence means players adapting to slightly different positions and a new shape, and some fine-tuning is required before they can really show what they could be capable of this season.

Another huge factor was the contribution of Aguero, who passed 200 goals for the club with a brace.
